I really can’t stay away from butterflies lately! I made this card for the Flowers challenge on the Addicted to CAS blog (http://addictedtocas.blogspot.com.au/2013/04/challenge-11-dt-call.html)
Supply List –
- Stamps: Bloomin’ Marvelous from Stampin’ Up
- Paper: Sugar, Ocean and Bermuda from A Muse Studio
- Inks: Amethyst, Heather, Bermuda and Ocean from A Muse Studio, Versamark
- Accessories: Beautiful Wings Embosslit and adhesive pearles from Stampin’ Up, Embossing Powders from A Muse Studio
I cannot get enough of the A Muse Studio ink pads. They are pigment ink which is embossable and dries to a chalk finish. The inks are great for layering. If you want to use the same image in various colors, start with the lightest color and work up to the darker. Here, I started with the leaves, which were stamped in Leaf ink from A Muse Studio and embossed with clear powder. Once the leaves were embossed, I started with the Amethyst flowers, working my way up to the Ocean color. I let the flowers completely dry before stamping the sentiment with Versamark and embossing. If you end up with embossing powder where you don’t want it, use a dry brush to wipe it away before using your heat tool.
The butterflies were cut out using the Beautiful Wings embosslet. They coordinate with the Ocean and Bermuda inks, and add some great texture and dimension to an otherwise flat card. The pearls add a finishing touch and elegance.
